Plastic for making your embossing folders

Below is a pic of the plastic I was talking about. It's the case that the box is in when you buy it. Cut it to make a folder and make it the size that will fit the design you are working with.

You can even make a single for embossing things like gift tags too. Make them as big or as small as you wish. In the pic below is a small cuttlebug embossing folder on the left and a 1 inch embossing folder on the right that I made for embossing Christmas tags.

Instructions for Homemade Border Embossing Folders

Here goes this is a first for me. I hope you all will understand these! he he
List of supplies you will need:
Plastic your cricut cartridges came in
Cricut machine
Card Stock ( I used 110 weight card stock)
design cartridge your choice (I used Speaking of Winter)
Adhesive

Make the border any size you like, cut your plastic and make the folder the size of the border, I cut my plastic after I cut my border so I would be sure to cut it the right size! Didn't want to waste my plastic! lol

Note: When you are laying the trees in the cutouts in the border make sure they match up with it and add the adhesive to the side of the tree that is up facing you this will let them adhere to the opposite side of the folder. Oh lord I hope I have explained this good enough for you all!

Instructions for Homemade Embossing Folders

I will try and post the instructions for these later today.

Homemade Embossing Border Folders

This is for all my friends at Cricutlovers. I made these a couple of nights ago after I saw the new kit to make your own! These may not look very nice but they do work and I used the plastic that my cricut cartridges came in. I cut the designs using the Speaking of Winter Cartridge and card stock. Mine folders are not the same size as the cuttlebug folders, I just wanted to make a border for the bottom of my cards, and this is what I came up with hope you all like them.
